Silva Classic baseplate compass

The Silva Classic map compass is one of the most recognizable and highly regarded navigation instruments in the world, created by the legendary Swedish brand. It is an ideal choice for beginner outdoor enthusiasts, scouts, and tourists who are looking for a simple, yet extremely precise tool for terrain orientation. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, this compass is an essential element of every survival and expedition kit.

The compass construction is based on a transparent baseplate made of durable and scratch-resistant acrylic, which allows for convenient work directly with a map. The Silva Classic is equipped with 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 operating scales, as well as a millimeter ruler, which allows for quick and accurate determination of distances and azimuths. The rotating housing with a clear 360-degree scale allows for precise settings, and the declination scale inside the capsule facilitates magnetic adjustments.

The heart of the device is a high-quality needle made of Swedish steel, which is characterized by excellent magnetic properties and stability. The needle is mounted in a sapphire bearing, which minimizes friction and ensures smooth movement. The set also includes a practical, detachable lanyard, which allows for safe carrying of the compass around the neck or attaching it to a backpack. By choosing the Classic model, you are betting on proven technology that will not let you down on the trail.
